Our Life

Personal narratives and life updates from the family — stories about growth, health journeys, and the everyday moments that shape us.

Life with young children moves in seasons, and we have learned to embrace the rhythm of each one. Some months feel like a whirlwind of school drop-offs, after-school activities, and weekend birthday parties. Others bring a slower pace, with rainy afternoons spent baking together or crafting at the kitchen table. Through it all, we try to hold onto the small moments that make this season so special. The way our children's laughter fills the house on a quiet morning. The feeling of everyone gathered around the dinner table, sharing stories from the day. These are the memories we are building, one ordinary day at a time.

Health has become a central thread in our family story, weaving through everything we do. When autoimmune challenges entered our lives, we had to rethink our approach to wellness from the ground up. We started paying closer attention to what we put on the table and how we moved our bodies each day. It has not been a straight path, and there have certainly been rough days along the way. But we have discovered a newfound appreciation for small victories and slow progress. This journey has reshaped our family's habits and taught us that caring for our bodies is one of the most loving things we can do for one another.

Motherhood has a way of shifting your perspective in ways you never expected. Before children, I imagined parenting would be about teaching and guiding. What I did not anticipate was how much my children would teach me. They have shown me patience I did not know I possessed and a capacity for joy that surprises me daily. They have also taught me that growth does not happen in a straight line. Some days we take two steps forward and one step back, and that is okay. Learning to extend grace to myself has been one of the hardest and most rewarding parts of this journey. We are all growing together.

We believe that food brings people together, and our kitchen is the heart of our home. Mealtime is where we reconnect after busy days, sharing not just a meal but the stories and experiences that filled our hours apart. We love creating kid-friendly dishes that the whole family can enjoy, and we have learned that even simple meals feel special when they are shared. From easy weeknight dinners to treats baked on lazy Sunday afternoons, food is woven through our family memories. We have also discovered that involving children in the kitchen makes them more curious about what they eat. There is something beautiful about passing down recipes and traditions around the table.

"The last six months of my 2018 were pretty rough. I won't lie and say that I had it all together — but I kept showing up."
