Not to brag, but I was the teenager who never got a single pimple, or breakouts. I was lucky enough to have clear, cooperative skin most of my life, until I became pregnant with Addie. You know the old wives tale about baby girls stealing your beauty? Let’s just say, it really isn’t too far from the truth. At about 3 months pregnant, and coincidentally while I was working toward my license for aesthetics, I started to get bad cystic acne. We’re not talking small pimples here and there, we are talking full on “pizza face”.
Thank God for the school I was attending, I was able to get peels and facials whenever I wanted and that really helped keep the acne at bay. But fast forward to now, two girls and beauty thieves later, the acne is here and it wants to stay. I’ve tried just about everything on the market, until one of my old friends introduced me to his products from Arbonne. As with anything new, I had to use it before I could share it with you, but guys, it’s working.
These products are becoming something I can’t live without. The Deep Pore Acne Cleanser is gentle but strong enough to combat my oily skin and leaves me feeling clean but not like the squeaky, dry type of clean. It just feels refreshed.
After I cleanse, I used the Corrective Acne Treatment Pads. This is kind of like a toner you would use after you cleanse. Most toning pads make your face a bit dry in my experience, but these leave your skin feeling clean, and fresh.
Once I’ve done those two steps, I use the Intensive Acne Spot Treatment over all of my problems areas. For me, my acne is very much caused by hormones so it shows up mainly on my chin and around my mouth. But I also use it in my T-zone to combat blackheads on my nose and cheeks.
Last, I use the Mattifying Acne Treatment Lotion. This is a moisturizer that contains salicylic acid like the other three products but also leaves your skin feeling moisturized and I’m not even lying, my skin looks like it’s glowing. It doesn’t leave me oily like many of the other moisturizers I’ve found, it just makes your skin feel soft and supple.
I do this regimen twice a day, first thing in the morning and before bed. After using them for this time period, I have noticed a great deal of change in the way my skin feels and the way it’s producing oil. Usually my face is incredibly oily, these products seem to be keeping the oil under control without drying me out.
