This time of year is my absolute favorite! Specifically October. It used to be because it was my birth month, and then I had kids- and one of them happened to share the month with me! I also love when the weather starts to break and things get chilly. It’s just an all around better time of year for me.
Since Piper and I share October for our birthdays now, it gives me a little extra excuse to do some shopping. I was recently approached by UncommonGoods to check out their site, and I fell instantly in love with pretty much everything I found. While I was shopping around for a gift for myself and some things for Miss Piper, there are literally hundreds of different gifts for all kids on occasions.
So before I show you what I grabbed for Piper, I have to shamelessly show you what I picked out for myself. I am still as in love with these self-given gifts as I was the day they arrived.
First up, I grabbed this Library Card Mug! I thought it was adorable, and there is really no other mug in the world that describes me better being the perpetual library going, book hoarding, homeschool momma that I am.
I also picked up one of these Crackling Candles in the scent Sweater Weather! It smells so delicious, reminds me of Fall and makes a really warm, fuzzy crackling sound while it burns.
Now, I grabbed Piper this adorable DIY unicorn kit with the best of intentions. I am a fairly crafty human being, as you readers who have been around for a while know- this unicorn got the better of me. I tried. I really did, but after I gave the finished product to Piper and she flinched away from it in horror, I thought better of putting photographic evidence of my mom fail on the internet where it would live forever. It’s the thought that counts though, right!? It’s such an adorable little DIY set.
The other gift I bought though, has been a huge hit with her. I’ve talked a bit about Piper’s night terrors here on the blog, and how hard it is to get her to sleep. This little balloon dog night light has swooped in and saved out sanity. She loved him, and his name is Rosie. He is bright enough to be comforting but not too much so, and he is battery powered. He’s also on a timer! We all love Rosie. Piper says he’s the best birthday present ever!
Overall, I’m a forever fan of UncommonGoods. I love giving things to people (and myself) that they wouldn’t ordinarily find themselves. Shipping is speedy and the customer service is perfect!
Tell me below, if you could order one thing from the UncommonGoods website, what would it be?!
