Happy early Valentine’s Day! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. We had some serious plumbing issues go down this week so we finally got that taken care of today and I am so glad for that because we are expecting some snow over the next couple days. Since we have been so busy, I didn’t get to give you guys any kind of sneak peak of this post like I wanted to so I’m glad I’m finally getting this posts up for you all.
So, if you have been around for any length of time, you know that we have 2 girls. Our youngest is 2 and we didn’t have a baby shower for her. We bought the couple of things we swore by with Addie for Piper but that was pretty much it. The things I’m sharing today are things I wish I would have known about with both girls, and things I wish I would have had on my registry the first time around! So if you are shopping for a new mom, or are expecting a new baby yourself, heads up- these are some awesome products.
This car seat. I am kicking myself for not getting this sooner. The Maxi Cosi Pria 70 goes from 9 to 70 pounds and it convertible. I love it because it can sit backwards for longer if you want it to and it is seriously the only carseat you’ll ever need since the weight range is so large. When the mail man dropped this off, Piper went absolutely insane. I’d told her a new seat was coming for her to try and when it got here, she was so excited. You can definitely tell it’s much more comfortable for her than her other seat. It’s got a lot of cushion and she loved the cup holder. The material is all machine washable as well, which is definitely nice for when they get older and always seem to have some mess between their bums and the car seat. This is one of those things that should go on your registry stat.
Next, if I learned anything from Piper, it’s that you wont always get a baby who sleeps laying down. Sometimes you’ll get a baby who has to be held to stay asleep. We relied heavily on swaddling blankets from the beginning. These made Piper feel comfortable and secure when we put her in her swing or crib while she slept and helped up have a little better luck getting her to sleep. This blanket though, is super cool. It has built in foam supports for the head and back that help hold your baby’s head in place. There are a lot of really cool features to the Deluxe Swaddle from Just Born.
Last but certainly not least for me personally, is the Gerber Baby Nes machine. I was not able to breastfeed with Addie & Piper, so we were exclusive formula feeders. I would have loved to have one of these machines back then! This is definitely something that if it existed when I was expecting, I would have had on my registry. If someone you love is expecting and is using formula, this machine has a lot of really great features that could definitely help make mom’s life easier.
So what about you? Have you checked out the Maxi Cosi 70 or Deluxe Swaddle?
