The holiday’s are upon us! This is my most favorite time of year and this year we are home to celebrate with family! I am so excited. I am cooking my firsts ever Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, and from here until the end of December things are going to be as busy as ever. Today I thought I’d share this little Santa Starter Kit Addie and I made for our neighbors!
I don’t know about you, but I am guilty of stretching myself too thin this time of year. There are so many things to do for the blog alone, add in traditions and family gatherings and I, like everyone else, am manic by the end of it all. So today, I’m sharing a way to at least take the guilt off of your plate.
Christmas cookies are one of my favorite memories from childhood. We always made tons of different types of cookies and decorated them as a family. When I became a mom, this was something I wanted to recreate for my kids so badly, and it is something that I feel eternal guilt for when we don’t get around to it. So, in order to still make memories with my girls, but also save some time (and sanity), we opt for store-bought dough.
I love Betty Crocker dough because not only is it super easy, you still get the fun mess of making cookies like you do from scratch. Plus, you don’t sacrifice taste, which is a major plus.
This year, we opted for the sugar cookie mix because they are great for icing and decorating! You can even roll this dough out for cutters and make any shape of cookie you want, as well as normal drop cookies- which is what we did.
Just follow the directions on the package and viola!
We took our cookies and wrapped them up to give to our neighbors! We created a fun Santa Starter Kit. We threw in a cute bottle of milk, some plates and a little tree along with our cookies! They loved it so much, and hopefully were encouraged to help spread cheer also.
What about you? Would you create a package for your neighbors or loved ones to #SpreadCheer? If you want, go ahead and enter the giveaway for a chance to win $20 cash for your own basket! All you have to do is share your #SpreadCheer story on one of your social channels (Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter) as their only form of entry.
