I don’t know about other households but mine is full of sugar fanatics. If my kids had it their way, it would be spoonfuls of sugar for breakfast every day and while we aren’t a ‘crunchy’ family in the slightest, I do like to start our day off with something healthy. We do smoothies a lot and fruit with yogurt. I can’t lie though, there are mornings where I am up not 2 minutes and need to get breakfast on the table before the girls get stabby. On those mornings, it’s usually pop-tarts or some other processed something or other. I think it’s fine once in a while but it does make me feel guilty. So the other night I was brainstorming some new breakfast ideas and decided to try to make my own pop-tarts with fresh fruit. They are not super healthy by any means but I felt like they were probably ten times better than the ones from a box. They were a hit! Piper and Addie both loved them. So I thought I’d share them here with you guys in case you’re in my shoes.
