Howdy everyone! How did your Halloween go? We had a really good day, Friday.
Addie went as Elsa and she insisted Piper go as Cinderella, so that’s what Piper did. I had to laugh when we put the little blue dress on Piper Because she flipped. She was so excited and kept squealing with delight at her princess digs. I loved it. Addie looked beautiful in her costume and I had a ton of fun doing her up to go trick or treating. She probably still has glitter stuck to her scalp. I know I do and I didn’t even add it to my hair. Collateral damage, I suppose.
Addie voted no make-up after our trial run. She said the black stuff (mascara) made her eyes cry and she couldn’t deal. I tried telling her beauty is pain and she went off on some unintelligible rant about pain and being beautiful, so we nixed it the night of.
Once we had them ready to leave the house, we headed to Applebees to have dinner which was a blast in a half. It actually wasn’t so bad. The girls behaved, we ate and were out relatively fast for a Friday night at the busiest restaurant ever. Addie even managed not to make a huge mess on her costume.
After dinner we headed out for trick or treating. Addie lost her brand new wand somewhere in the beginning of the trek but was over it quickly, because candy. I think we may have agreed to buy her a new one…but I can’t remember. It was pretty chilly, but we stayed out for quite some time. Half the fun was watching Addie hold up her too-long costume so she didn’t eat it on the concrete every two seconds. She kept telling Jake to hold her cape, that she was the leader and we were her followers.
She’d have no problem ruling a kingdom. Take notes Elsa!
We went home, put the kids to bed and ate their candy. (oh! and Piper slept through the night for the first time in a couple weeks!!)
And they all lived happily ever after!
What were you or your kiddos for Halloween? Are you glad it’s over or do you wish it would have lasted longer?
