Well, I am super late posting today. I thought about skipping it all together but I thought one day, I am going to need a reminder as to why I am so blessed to have healthy kids and we all sleep through the night, most nights.
Yesterday Piper started to show signs of a full blown cold. She is 10 months and this is her first time being sick. The child is pretty difficult to handle on the daily as it is, she is strong willed and has a temper.
Add germs to the equation and she is a complete nightmare. It breaks my heart that she is not feeling well. I cried right along with her last night because I had no idea what to do to make her feel better.
But she and I were up until about 4 A.M. She was screaming her head off for hours because she was so over tired. I laid on the couch with her and she finally fell asleep.Waking every 30 or so minutes. Needless to say, I didn’t get any sleep at all. Jake woke up and I took a nap around 11:30 for a few hours. I feel like a new woman!
You tend to forget the exhaustion of babies when they start sleeping through the night. You take your schedule for granted. If you learn anything here, thank your lucky stars every morning for a good sleep.
I’m hoping tonight is a little better. She took a three hour nap this afternoon, and went down with no problems. Her runny nose is still clear, no cough or anything. I think shes just stuffed up. We’re trying to do saline and use the sucker on her nose. I don’t know if there is really anything else we can do besides a humidifier.
Any suggestions? This sucks!
