Happy Thursday guys, we are getting closer to the weekend!
Today I really wanted to share something that has been on my mind a lot lately. This is something that is pretty constantly resounding in my head as I raise Addie, grow as a person and think about bringing another little girl into the world.
It is this verse:
I do not talk a lot about my beliefs here, because my relationship with God is very personal to me. I enjoy conversing about it, but on the same token I like to keep it intimate. That is just me.
But this is something I think everyone can live by. This verse can be applied to so many different sides of our lives, and I just wanted to share why at this point in my life, it is almost a mantra.
In the most general of terms, this is a verse I was reminded of a lot growing up. My dad always told me to guard my heart. Everything you do, say…react to comes from your heart. Every decision you make comes from your heart and as I grow this is still something I have to practice.
As a parent I want my girls to grow up trusting their gut like I do my own. Being able to trust their hearts to make sound and righteous decisions. I want them to see that if you are true to your heart- you are certain to succeed at whatever you do.
As a wife, protecting my heart from negative feelings is key. I am pretty easily rocked…things get to me easily when it comes to Jake. Because I do trust him with my life and my loyalty, I sometimes let fear in and it is never good.
As a Christian, protecting my heart means having control of what affects me and what I emit. and while it is a daily struggle, I would rather be overly conscious of the integrity of my heart that to not be in the slightest.
What about you? Do you guard your heart?
