I do not complain on here often, but I feel like this is necessary.
Obviously, yesterday something terrible happened in Boston. People were injured, some people died…it was awful. I can only hope that the person or people responsible are found, and are punished.
But something that irritates me is that when I get on Twitter or Facebook…and people are belly aching about what OTHER people are doing in response, or even just a few hours after the bombing.
Some people don’t pray. Some people cope by moving on. Some do pray, and will hold vigil…which is fine. There is no wrong way to recognize what happened yesterday.
It is PERFECTLY fine if you didn’t stop tweeting your blog posts, or sponsors…if you are enjoying a show with your family, and tweeting about it. It is okay to be silent…maybe that is what you are comfortable with.
It is extremely disrespectful to moan about what YOU think is disgusting, or embarrassing- or annoying because you don’t agree with a tweet.
Just because I don’t hashtag #prayingforboston in every update or tweet of mine, does not mean I am less human than you. It doesn’t mean that I don’t care- it simply means…my hashtags do not make a single bit of difference in the situation in Boston. Keeping something trending does not catch the bad guy…So forgive me if I deal with this news how I want to.
again, the losses are devastating- and the thought that this happened sucks…but my life wont, and cannot stop turning because of it.
